Music video research
We watched videos and they all showed something different. Some of the music videos wanted to tell a story for example 50 cent "in da club". This video was telling you about a new artist and how Eminem found him and he is making him train. Another music video did not want to tell a story and it did not make any sense for example true faith. So for our video this will help to decide what to do depending on what the lyrics and the music is like, so then we can decide what we think is best for the song.

Mise-en-scene and Cinematography
Mise-en-scene
Cinematography
One shot that stood out was when he first walked into the place and it was a long shot. This shot showed what the place was like and then it let the audience see the people that are there as well so they know who they are and also you can see that it is dark and looks deserted where it has hardly any thing in the place because they are dancing. Another shot that i see was a long shot but it was showing him dance and this shot came up a few times as it is important this is because it is showing the audience his dance moves and also body language so you can see whether he wants to be there and is enjoying it.
First impressions
My first impression of the video is that it is very entertaining and it seems as though it may tell a story. Then at the beginning it is slow and tense and you can feel that something big will happen that is going to be really good.
Analysis of a music video
What genre of music do they produce?
He produces pop music
what sort of image do they have?
He has millions of fans worldwide and he is also is respected in the music industry and he is known as the "King of Pop".
Who is the target audience?
The target audience is around 16+ as his dancing is well known and it appeals to both genders. To get the audience watching him he starts with something that would surprise people because he gets a coin and flips it in to a juke box. This is to get the music starting so it was a very good beginning to get people watching because they thought that it was good how it was done. Also this gets the video started and then it gets better with seeing the dance moves and the singing. The video is shot in a dark place that is kind of smoky and this could show that he is mysterious and unpredictable.
How successful are they / have they been?
He is very successful and he started his solo career in 1971. His album Thriller remains the worlds best selling album of all time. Also his other solo albums are also among the worlds best selling records.

Music video research
We watched 100 greatest videos and this was very good as it gave us ideas for our group so then we have a rough idea in how to create videos. In 21 seconds the so solid crew was introducing themselves and they had to introduce themselves in 21 seconds and everyone of them introduced themselves differently some came in with fire and on was tornado and this is just an idea that we could use or we could take an idea out there.
Also another video we see was Herbie Hancock and he was not allowed to feature in his video because he was black and MTV did not want black people so he had a bizarre video because he had robots dancing and moving. So we could make our music video more unique by using new things and adding them together to create something new.
Another video that we watched was the corner shop now this is an idea that we could use. They had corner shop pop up everywhere but we could use it and make our music name pop up a couple of times just so people that watch it will know what our name was so this would be a good idea to make sure we stan out and people remember us.
